About the JHBS
History
Islwyn Williams, Jens Schulz, Amund Williams, Elijah Williams and Christian Schulz, were messing around, and invented a simple version of Half-Ball where there was only the Middle Line. Throughout the day Amund and Jens changed it into the game we know today. Islwyn suggested a double-elimination tournament, and that was the first Supercup. The winner was Jens, so they gave him a plastic cup and named the tournament after him.
Rituals
Only people younger the 18 are allowed to participate. First, someone puts numbers in a bag and the contestants randomly chose one, and that will decide their place on the braket. At the beginning of the tournament the ceremonial envelope is opened, inside is the nickel that is used to decide who serves first, and with the opening of the envelope, the game begins.
All the games are first to five, except for the final one, which is first to 10+2.
Whoever wins, will be presented with The Jens Schulz Half-Ball Supercup, which will stay with them until someone else wins it. When the game ends the nickel is sealed in a new envelope until the next Supercup.
